Yes. We've all seen the Easter processions on television but to stand with the parishioners and watch how it's all done is another thing. The logistics and the sheer effort is a clue to the cohesion of Spanish communities. Very impressive!

Christians commonly refer to the week before Easter as Holy Week, which in Western Christianity begins on Palm Sunday. This remembers the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem. On Ash Wednesday the betrayal of Jesus is remembered. In England the monarch gives symbolic money on Maundy Thursday which commemorates  the Maundy and Last Supper. Good Friday honours the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the 50th day, Pentecost Sunday.
